Inspiring View!

Inside St James' Church Spire

Our spire is the second highest in Wiltshire only to Salisbury Cathedral at 160 feet and you’ll have seen the ladder which the steeplejacks have been using to look for leaks through the mortar joints in the stonework.

This photo is of what very few people have ever seen with their own eyes - inside the spire looking to the top where you see one of the steeplejacks suspended by ropes. The report states that the cockerel is firmly fixed but some of the joints will need to be repaired.
